TFA donated $1000 to Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF) for the rescue and rehabilitation of Kamlari girls. NYF is a U.S. based non-profit organization that works for Nepal’s most impoverished children particularly in Western Nepal. Kamlari, an old system of indentured servitude slavery in Nepal, was abolished in 2000. The same year, NYF began “Empowering Freed Kamlaris Program”. Since NYF was already working on the issue and had plans in place to help the Kamlari girls, TFA, after discussion with the chairperson, decided to help the servitude girls through the NYF.
